Have you ever wished you could clear your mind and put yourself in a more relaxed, blissful state in just a few minutes?
Well if your answer is a resounding "Yes!" then please continue reading.
When I was 18, my dad, who was always curious and interested in trying new things, signed up the whole family for a Transcendental Meditation (TM) course. The course lasted several weeks and I was given my own personal mantra (sound) to repeat during my practice to help me stay focused while I meditated.
Fast forward 35 years and well....I'm still meditating!
Now keep in mind my practice has had it's various life interruptions, so I haven't always been consistent, but over the years I always, always returned to what I knew and what I learned.
I noticed over time that even though having a mantra to silently repeat to myself was helpful, my mind would often feel cluttered at the beginning of a meditation. That is until I started incorporating some wonderful practices I learned as a yoga and being trained as a Reiki teacher.
In the video above, I share 3 of the techniques that I have found most powerful in my own life.
I like to practice them on their own, but I find them particularly powerful when practiced right before meditation because they help set the stage and intention for a beautiful practice to follow.
Please give each of these techniques a try and then pause afterwards with your eyes closed and notice if a shift in energy or lightness of being emerges within you.
And then feel free to go about your day or go right into your meditation. Yes, your mind may still wander, which is okay because that's part of meditation, but chances are you will feel less scattered and more focused during your practice as a whole.
